Taylor spent his freshman campaign at Memphis, seeing action in three games, grabbing a pair of rebounds in the process. He will be a rising sophomore for the Knights in the upcoming season.
Taylor was tabbed as a four-star recruit out of San Ysidro High School and was ranked as the No. 86 player in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He was the No. 14 recruit in California and No. 20 at the small forward position. Taylor compiled an impressive 25.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 blocks per game in his senior season at San Ysidro.
A Chicago native, Taylor’s first two high school stops were in his home state, before heading out west to California. Prior to his outstanding senior stint, Taylor was at Donda Academy for his junior campaign. A year before that, Taylor averaged a remarkable 28.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in his sophomore season with Kenwood Academy. His freshman year was spent at Morgan Park High School.
