ORLANDO – For the fourth straight season, the UCF softball team earned its ticket to the dance.
The Knights received an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Tournament as announced during Sunday evening’s selection show and have been slotted into the Tallahassee Regional hosted by the No. 15 overall seed Florida State Seminoles.
Joining UCF and Florida State in Tallahassee will be the Auburn Tigers, who earned an at-large bid on the strength of a 27-19-1 overall 2024 record, and the Chattanooga Mocs, winners of the SoCon Tournament’s automatic bid.
The Knights will kick off their postseason run against Auburn at 2 p.m. ET Friday, May 17 on ESPNU at JoAnne Graf Field, and with a win would match up against the winner of No. 15 Florida State and Chattanooga at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon
The at-large bid for UCF represents its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons, marking the first time in program history the Knights have earned four straight NCAA Tournament bids. The Black and Gold make their 11th appearance in the dance overall since their debut in the tournament in 2005.
UCF also makes its second consecutive trip to Tallahassee in the NCAA Tournament’s opening round, as well as its fourth overall appearance in Tallahassee in NCAA Tournament postseason play. The Knights won their 2023 tournament opener against the then-No. 20 South Carolina Gamecocks, 6-1, before falling in consecutive games to then-No. 3 Florida State and again to South Carolina.
