ORLANDO – It was special.
That was the consensus among UCF football student-athletes following their latest visit to the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Different from previous visits, the student-athletes sought input from the children on how to take their game, or their style for the Spring Game, to the next level.
In a unique opportunity, the children designed logos for the student-athletes to wear on their helmets during UCF’s annual Knights vs. ‘Nauts Spring Game, presented by Knight Pass, on Friday, April 12, at FBC Mortgage Stadium.
UCF’s student-athletes assisted the children in the creative process of coloring and designing stacked UCF, Knight Head and Citronaut logos that the players will don on their helmets.
“Giving back to our community is a huge part of who we are as a program, so we’re excited to have our players represent the Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in this unique way in our Spring Game,” said UCF head coach Gus Malzahn.
Not only will the football student-athletes be excited to play in front of Knight Nation for the first time in nearly four months on Friday, but they will also be playing for the children that they have now developed a connection with and representing them on the field.
Additionally, a few of the children from the hospital will be in attendance and recognized during Friday’s game.
