Men’s Golf Wraps Up Play in Big 12 Championship

TRINITY, Texas – The UCF men’s golf team wrapped up play in its first Big 12 Championship Wednesday afternoon at Whispering Pines Golf Club, as the Knights finished 13th with a team score of 1195. The Knights were eight over as a team in the final round and 43 over for the championship.

Texas won their ninth Big 12 Championship with a team score of 1127 (-25), while Oklahoma was second at -7 (1145) and Oklahoma State was third at two under (1150).

Senior Egor Eroshenko led the Knights in Wednesday’s final round with a two-under-par 70, highlighted by five birdies. He finished tied for 28th on the player leaderboard at four over (292), jumping 10 spots from the conclusion of Tuesday’s third round. Eroshenko ended the week with 15 birdies.

Sophomore Chase Haygood was six over in the fourth round Wednesday with a birdie on No. 12 and carded a 10-over-par 298 during the week to finish tied for 43.

Cooper Tate put together one of his best career rounds with a 71 (-1) in the final round to leap 10 spots on the player leaderboard into a tie for 54th. He was even on the back nine with two birdies and one under on the front nine with a pair of birdies. For the week, Tate shot a 304 (+16).

Freshman Hans Risvaer ended his first conference championship at the collegiate level with a 78 (+6) in Wednesday’s round. He carded an 18-over-par 304 during the event. Gustav Andersson rounded out the lineup for UCF with a 311 (+23) after firing an 82 in the last round.

The Knights first season as a member of the Big 12 Conference comes to a close, as UCF played well in its last few regular-season tournaments before facing a challenging field at the conference championship.
