by Justin Wilson

TRINITY, Texas – The UCF men’s golf wrapped up the second day of the Big 12 Championship with a team score of 300 in the third round held Tuesday afternoon at the Whispering Pines Golf Club. After a stellar second round as one of just three teams under par, the Knights were not able to replicate that performance and finished the day 12 strokes over par.

Sophomore Chase Haygood led the Black and Gold with his best round of the week at one-under-par 71 thanks to four birdies. He was one under through the first nine holes and even on the back nine. Following 54 holes of play, Haygood is tied for 30th with a 220 (+4).

Egor Eroshenko, a senior, shot a 75 (+3) on Tuesday with a pair of birdies to sit tied for 38th on the player leaderboard following three rounds with a six-over-par 222. Freshman Hans Risvaer is tied for 55th at +12 (228) after the third round, carding a 78 in Tuesday’s action.

Gustav Andersson is one stroke shy of Risvaer with a 229 (+13) and fired a 77 on Tuesday with a birdie on No. 2. Cooper Tate is 17 over after the first three rounds, recording a 77 in the third round.
