Baker Leads Knights in Final Round of Big 12 Championship

HOCKLEY, Texas – Jess Baker turned in a stellar performance in the final round of the Big 12 Championship tournament at Houston Oaks Country Club. The senior shot a 64 (-7) to mark the lowest score ever at the Big 12 Championship surpassing Oklahoma State’s Isabelle Fierro who carded a 65 in 2021.

The UCF women’s golf team recorded a solid performance moving up three spots in the team leaderboard to finish in 8th place in their debut at the Big 12 Championship. The Knights posted a team score of 878 (+26).

Baker led the lineup finishing the 54-hole tournament with a 213 (E). The Newcastle, England native jumped up 28 spots in the final round to finish in 7th place. She tallied seven birdies on the day and recorded a bogey-free round to become the only golfer at the tournament to do so.

 Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham turned in a 70 (-1) to finish the three-day in T8 with a final score of 214 (+1).

Molly Smith tallied a three-round score of 224 (+11) to finish T37.

UCF’s final two rounds came from Brittany Shin’s 229 (+16) to tie for T50 and Katie Poots' 233 (+20) to land in 59th place.

The Knights will find out its regional selection on April 24 live on the Golf Channel. This year’s regional sites include Auburn, Ala., Cle Elum, Wash., College Station, Texas, East Lansing, Mich., Las Vegas, N.V. and Winston-Salem, N.C.
