HOCKLEY, Texas – UCF women’s golf team got off to a strong start through the first nine holes but struggled on the back nine in the first round of the Big 12 Championship, where the Knights ended the day in 9th place with a score of 298.
Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham finished T12 after the first round of play at Houston Oaks Country Club. The sophomore recorded a one-over par 72 and notched two birdies on the day.
Jess Baker and Molly Smith led the Knights with three birdies on the day. The duo each carded a 75 (+4) to be tied for 34th place.
Brittany Shin shot a 76 (+5) and finished the first round T45.
Katie Poots ended the day T49 and tallied a six-over par 77.
UCF returns to action for the second round of the Big 12 Championship on Friday at 9 a.m.
