ORLANDO – Headlined by a successful regular season with seven top-five finishes, two team titles and 94 wins the No. 23 UCF women’s golf team heads to Hockley, Texas, for their debut in the Big 12 Championship. 

The teams will play 18 holes each day. The Knights tee off at 8 a.m. on Thursday with Texas and Houston on hole No. 1. 

UCF will face a tough field with eight of the 13 teams ranked in the top 50 in the most recent Scoreboard powered by Clippd rankings.  No. 11 Texas, No. 38 Houston, No. 40 Baylor, No. 42 Oklahoma State, No. 44 Oklahoma, No. 48 Kansas, No. 49 Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, TCU, BYU and Cincinnati round-out the 13 team field along with No. 23 UCF.

Established in the mid-1950s, Houston Oaks Country Club features an 18-hole Chet Williams Championship Golf Course. The course is ranked No. 2 in Texas by Dallas Morning News and tabbed to the list of Top 100 golf courses in Texas (2020). 

The Black and Gold’s lineup will feature Molly Smith, Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham, Jess Baker, Katie Poots and Brittany Shin

Last year, Oklahoma State took home the conference championship.
