Headlined by six home matches, three first-time opponents and two 2023 NCAA Tournament teams, the UCF women’s soccer team announced its 2024 Big 12 Conference schedule in conjunction with the Big 12 schedule release Monday afternoon.
Conference play kicks off at home on Thursday, Sept. 12 for AlumKnight, when the Houston Cougars come to the UCF Soccer Complex.
The Knights then head on the road for a quick trip to the Midwest. The squad will take on Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, Thursday, Sept. 19 for the first meeting between the teams.
Coming home for another one-match homestand, UCF will take on conference newcomer Arizona State Sunday, Sept. 22. The Sun Devils were 10-7-4 last year and qualified for the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
The Black and Gold will then face their longest road test of the season, traveling west for three matches. The Knights travel to Lawrence, Kansas, for the first time since the 2008 season to take on Kansas Thursday, Sept. 26. The squad closes out the first month of conference play in the Little Apple, going head-to-head with Kansas State in Manhattan Sunday, Sept. 29. UCF travels north to West Virginia Friday, Oct. 4 to conclude the road trip.
New Big 12 member Arizona travels to the UCF Soccer Complex Thursday, Oct. 10.
For the final road test of the regular season, the Knights travel to the Centennial State for a clash with 2023 NCAA Tournament team Colorado in Boulder Oct. 13 in the first meeting between the teams.
The Black and Gold close conference play just like they started at the UCF Soccer Complex, for their longest homestand of the Big 12 season. TCU travels to Orlando Oct. 17 for a 2023 Big 12 Championship quarterfinals rematch, a 3-2 upset over the third-seeded Horned Frogs that sent UCF to the semifinals. The Oklahoma State Cowgirls make the trip to the Sunshine State Oct. 20 for the first time since 2015. UCF closes out its second season in the Big 12 with Cincinnati, which visits the UCF Soccer Complex Oct. 25.
The 2024 Sprouts Farmers Market Big 12 Soccer Championship will be held at CPKC Stadium, home of the National Women’s Soccer League’s Kansas City Current, in Kansas City, Missouri. The top 12 teams will advance to the championship following the conclusion of Big 12 regular-season play, with 11 matches held between Wednesday, Oct. 30 and Saturday, Nov. 9. The top four seeds receive a bye into the quarterfinals.
