Sisutham Leads Women's Golf on First Day of Gators Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Headlined by a five-under-par (65) performance in round one, Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham is tied for first at the Gators Invitational as play was suspended halfway through round two due to darkness on Friday at Mark Bostick Golf Course. 

The No. 16 Knights (+10) were through holes 4-15 before play was stopped at 6:15 p.m. The Black and Gold shot an opening round score of 282 (+2) and were in second place before moving down to fifth place in round two. 

Sisutham got off to a hot start carding a 65 (-5) in round one. The Thailand native tallied five birdies including back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15. After 13 holes in round two, Sisutham is even and tied for first place. 

Jess Baker shot a 71 (+1) in round one and is currently sitting at three-over in round two. Baker is tied for 25th.

Molly Smith and Brittany Shin each carded a 73 (+3). Smith is two-over in the second round and T33. Shin got off to a rough start in the second round with a bogey and then a double bogey on holes 8 and 9 but was able to pick it up with a birdie on hole No. 14. She is currently tied for 39 with six holes remaining. 

Katie Poots finished round one with an 80 (+10) and is currently seven-over in round two through 12 holes to tie for 72nd place.

Round two will resume at 8 a.m. on Saturday followed by round three to wrap up the two-day tournament.
