Smith Tabbed Runner-Up at UCF Challenge

ORLANDO – Freshman Molly Smith turned in another strong performance to finish out the UCF Challenge in second place with a final score of 206 (-10).

The Knights carded a score of 856 (-8) to finish tied for fourth overall as North Carolina won the UCF Challenge with a score of 846 (-18).

Smith carded a 70 (-2) on the final day of the three-day tournament with four birdies. The Massachusetts native came in second place individually leading the Knights with 10-under-par.

Katie Poots turned in her best performance of the tournament with a 69 (-3) ending the day tied for 31st. Poots tallied three birdies on the day. 

Jess Baker finished the tournament one-under-par shooting a 71 (-1) Monday afternoon and rounded out the tournament T36.

Brittany Shin closed out the tournament with four birdies in the final round shooting 72 (E). Shin ended the UCF Challenge in T45.

Camille Banzet carded a 76 (+4) this afternoon to end the tournament tied for 84th.

UCF carded 183 pars over the weekend coming in 4th and averaged 4.70 (-18) coming in 5th for par 5’s.

The Knights will continue their spring season at the Moon Golf Invitational hosted by Louisville at Suntree Country Club from Feb. 18-20.
