CLEMSON, S.C. – The UCF track and field team wrapped up day one of action at the Bob Pollock Invitational Saturday afternoon as the distance medley relay squad broke into the top 10 all-time.
The day got started with the 5000m run as four Knights embarked on the longest running event during the indoor season. Sophomore Penelope Sosa led the way as runner-up with a time of 18:03.37, marking the second time she’s competed in the indoor event.
The first personal best of the day came courtesy of Paige Jaszczak in third, running 18:03.64. Her twin sister, Riley, rounded out the UCF presence in the top five with a fourth-place finish and a time of 18:09.66.
In the mile, Kendall Hughes secured a 15th-place finish in her first appearance in the event at the collegiate level. Abby Clements also checked in at 32nd with a time of 5:14.78.
Saturday’s highlight came in the final event as a freshman trio, joined by Lillian Holtery, ran the program's fifth fastest DMR time with their 11:41.03 performance. The outing marks the third consecutive year the Knights have had a squad break into the top 10.
