FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - UCF men’s golf senior Egor Eroshenko turned in an awesome weekend at the First Coast Amateur held at the Amelia National Golf and Country Club, finishing in second place with a 206 (-10), just one stroke shy of tying for the individual title.

Eroshenko fired three rounds under par with a 68 (-4) in the first and third rounds and a 70 (-2) in the second round on Sunday. He tallied 14 birdies in the event, headlined by closing out the tournament with six on Monday.

The Russia native entered Sunday’s final round with a one stroke lead, but Purdue’s Kent Hsiao put together the best round of the tournament with a 65 (-7) to overtake Eroshenko for first place.

Eroshenko’s strong weekend was highlighted by finishing ahead of some of the area’s top amateurs, including golfers from Florida State, Iowa, Ohio State and Ole Miss.

The Knights return to action as a team at the Sea Best Invitational held Jan. 29-30 in Ponte Vedra, Florida, at the TPC Sawgrass - Dye's Valley Golf Course.
