ORLANDO - UCF women’s basketball added three signees for the 2024-25 season, head coach Sytia Messer announced Wednesday.

Messer’s recruiting class features a pair of high school seniors ranked in the top 10 in their respective states.

White

Summer Yancy is a 5-foot-11 guard/forward from Kansas City, Missouri. She is ranked No. 4 in the state of Missouri. She helped lead her team to their first state tournament appearance in program history. Yancy was named District Player of the Year in 2023 as well as District Champion.

“Summer is one of the better and most versatile defenders on the EYBL circuit,” Messer said. “Her grit mindset is what caught our eye immediately. Summer is a versatile scorer who can do it all on both ends of the floor. We can’t wait to coach her here at UCF.”

MAHOGANY

Mahogany Chandler-Roberts is a 6-foot-2 forward from Portland, Oregon. She is one of the top recruits in the state of Oregon. Last season, she averaged 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds for Benson Tech.

“We are elated that Mahogany chose UCF and know her versatility will be impactful for our program,” said Messer. “Her size, energy, and ability to play and guard multiple positions excites us. Welcome to the family, Mahogany.”

ADEANG

Rounding out the class is Adeang Ring, a 6-foot-5 forward from Phoenix, Arizona. Ring is ranked No. 2 in the state of Arizona. Originally from Sydney, Australia she attends Bella Vista College Prep in Arizona.

“Adeang’s defensive presence has the potential to be impactful for our program” added Messer. “Her skill level at her size excites us as a staff and her vocal leadership is something we look forward to adding to our team. We’re so happy to add Adeang to our Knight family!”
