ORLANDO – On the heels of the first double-digit win season for the program since 2019, the No. 12 UCF men’s soccer team has clinched a top 16 national seed, a first-round bye and hosting rights for the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

As announced during the NCAA’s Monday afternoon selection show, the Knights (10-3-2, 6-2-1 SBC) were awarded the No. 12 national seed, and will match up against the winner of Thursday’s contest between the Rider Broncs and the Vermont Catamounts, hosted by Vermont.

UCF’s first contest of the tournament in the second round, hosted by the Knights at the UCF Soccer Complex, is slated for Sunday, Nov. 19.

Rider enters the NCAA Tournament as the defending 2023 champion of the MAAC after topping Iona 2-1 and brings a 12-3-4 record and a seven-match win streak, as well as an eight-match unbeaten streak, into postseason play.

Vermont, meanwhile, earns an at-large bid to the tournament after an 11-5-2 campaign and a 2-1 defeat to NJIT in the first round of the America East Tournament.
