Women's Golf in First Place after Round Two in Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The UCF women’s golf team and Molly Smith led the field at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate in the second round of play.

The Knights shot 291 for a score of six-under and lead the field by seven strokes with Mississippi (+1) in second.

Smith started the day out with back-to-back birdies on the front nine and one on the back nine to record a 70 (-1).

Four Knights landed in the top-25 with Pimpisa “Sandwich” Sisutham tied for 12th and even with a score of 142.

Tunrada “Pat” Piddon carded a 74 (+3) to tie for 15th. While Jess Baker tallied a birdie early in the round on hole No. 2 and finished the day with a score of 77 to tie for 24th.

Brittany Shin rounded out the lineup at T64 with her lowest score of the tournament, 73 (+2) recording an eagle on hole No. 11.

Competing as an individual Camille Banzet is in T64.

UCF looks to win its second straight tournament and will tee off tomorrow at 9:15 a.m.
