Cross Country Set for Louisville Classic

ORLANDO - After a second-place finish in the FAU Invitational, the UCF women’s cross-country team will travel to Louisville, KY for the Louisville Classic. This will be the Knights’ first-ever appearance in the Louisville classic. The race will start at 10:15 a.m. ET at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer Park on Sept. 30.

The Knights look to continue building momentum after their 53-point performance at the FAU Invitational. Three Knights finished in the top ten for this race; Mariana Rodriguez led the Knights with a seventh-place finish in the race (18:23.55) while Isabella Richardson (18:25.33) and Lillian Holtery (18:28.90) finished eighth and ninth, respectively.

A 35-team field with programs such as Purdue, Clemson, Rice, Marshall and Louisville will prove to be a good test for the squad as they wind down their regular season slate ahead of their first Big 12 Championships.

At last year’s Louisville Classic, Furman University won the Women’s 5k CC Gold with 44 points.
