ORLANDO- The UCF women’s tennis team will continue its fall 2023 campaign as they head on the road to Tampa, Fla. to compete in the Bedford Cup, hosted by South Florida. The tournament will run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 and will be the Knights’ first time participating in the Cup since 2019, where former UCF player, Nandini Sharma, won the contest.
The Bedford Cup brings the top collegiate players from across the state of Florida to compete.
Ten Florida schools will be represented at the tournament including Florida Gulf Coast, FSU, North Florida, Florida International, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Florida, Stetson, South Florida and UCF.
Redshirt junior Anique Kattenberg and junior Noel Saidenova will be taking the trip to Tampa to compete for the Black and Gold. Kattenberg and Saidenova are fresh off competing for UCF in the 2023 Fall Ranked Spotlight in Cary, N.C.
Along with the Bedford Cup, redshirt freshman Grace Levelston will be the Knights’ lone competitor at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. starting on Sept. 30. The first championship tournament of the fall slate will run through Oct. 8.
Olivia Lincer will be the UCF representative at the Black and Gold’s second professional event of the year at the ITF W60 in Rome, Ga. The tournament runs from Oct. 2 through Oct. 6
