Ahead of UCF football’s inaugural Big 12 Conference home game against Baylor this weekend, we take a look back at the special 2013 season, which culminated with a thrilling 52-42 victory against the Bears in the 2014 Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona.
The 2013 team will be recognized on the field during Saturday’s game against Baylor. The Knights finished the season with a 12-1 overall record, including a perfect 8-0 mark in their first season in the American Athletic Conference.
It was also a “Year of Firsts” highlighted by UCF’s first wins over Big Ten and Big 12 Conference teams, first top-15 ranking, first top-10 ranking (finished No. 10 in the AP Poll), first BCS bowl (Now New Year’s Six) berth and victory, first 12-win season, first time going undefeated on the road and first two victories over top-10 teams.
