ORLANDO, Fla. - The UCF men's golf team is set to open its 2023-24 season this weekend at the Island Resort Intercollegiate hosted by South Dakota State. The tournament will take place on September 3-4 at the Sage Run Golf Club in Michigan.
UCF will be joined in the field by Boise State, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Illinois State, Miami (OH), Michigan, North Texas, Ohio, St. Mary’s and host South Dakota State. Illinois State won the 2022 event along with Toledo, as both teams fired a team score of -8.
The 54-hole tournament will consist of two rounds (36 holes) on Sunday and one round (18 holes) on Monday. Tee times will begin at 7:40 a.m. each day off holes No. 1 and No. 10.
The Sage Run Golf Club, a par 72 course measuring 7,375 yards, will provide a challenging test for the Knights. Live scoring will be available through SpikeMark and can be accessed by clicking here.
UCF will look to build on a successful 2022 season, which saw the program finish fourth in its final American Athletic Conference Championship. The Knights narrowly missed selection to an NCAA Regional as a team, but fifth years Luis Carrera and Johnny Travale were selected to compete as individuals.
The Black and Gold welcome six newcomers to the program for the 2023-24 season, including a few highly-touted transfers. Egor Eroshenko is the team’s lone senior and the Rostov on Don, Russia, native looks to lead the Knights in his final season.
Now in his 15th season, UCF head coach Bryce Wallor has led the Knights as a team or had an individual qualify for an NCAA Regional in 11 of his 13 full seasons (2020 postseason canceled).
