Knight Nation’s Big 12 Celebration in Orlando Set for August 11

Following events in Atlanta and New York City, Knight Nation's Big 12 Celebration will continue Friday, August 11, in downtown Orlando at Thornton Park. The 2023 athletics season will be historic for UCF and the celebration will be no different!

In an effort to tell the UCF story, the yearlong celebration began with stops in Atlanta (May 10) and New York City (May 24). The focus for these three destinations is to expand our brand footprint, locally, regionally, and nationally. Each trip will be headlined by coaches meeting with media members, donors, and evening alumni chapter lead events featuring our coaches and leadership within UCF.

With the kickoff of our inaugural Big 12 season approaching, it's time to bring the celebration home, where UCF is UCF - Orlando! With more than 200,000 alumni living in Orlando/Central Florida, it is our largest alumni and fanbase regionally, in the state, and nationally.

Home of the College Football Hall of Fame, UCF Football capped off a perfect season in 2017 at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, which is widely regarded as the epicenter of college football. As the closest Big 12 team to Atlanta, coupled with UCF's second-largest alumni base living outside of Florida, the celebration began with a great crowd of Knights fans at Murph's Galleria.

As one of the most vocal and largest alumni bases outside of the state, New York was next on the slate with a large gathering of UCF fans/alumni at the Selina Chelsea. Combined with recent Big 12 news to expand its footprint into the city, we wanted to be aligned in the approach as we expand our footprint into the city.
