ORLANDO – UCF placed 236 student-athletes on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, announced by the league office.
The American's All-Academic Team for 2022-23 features 39 members of the Knights' football team, 36 from the rowing roster, 32 from the track and field and cross country program, 23 from baseball, 22 from softball, women’s soccer and men’s soccer had 19 and 17 selections, respectively. Volleyball had 12 honorees, the women’s basketball program had nine, men’s golf and women’s tennis each had seven, women’s golf had six, men’s basketball and men’s tennis had four each.
In May, student-athletes have extended their record-setting streak in the classroom to 31 consecutive semesters with a department e-point average of 3.0 or better—including eight straight semesters with a 3.3 or higher mark.
The Knights compiled a combined 3.35 GPA in the 2023 spring semester, the third-highest semester GPA in program history. That came after a 3.34 mark in the 2022 fall semester.
More than 70% of student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the spring semester—and 46 earned a 4.0 GPA.
UCF has posted a department-wide GPA of 3.3 or better nine times in the last 10 years. The Knights have not turned in a semester below a 3.0 since fall 2007. The top 10 semester marks in school history have come over the last 12 semesters as the Knights continued to win championships in their fields of competition.
To be eligible for the AAC All-Academic team, student-athletes must have competed in a conference-sponsored sport, attained a minimum e-point average of 3.0 for the preceding academic year and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters of academic work.
