Track and Field Dubbed USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, Ten Knights Garner Honors

ORLANDO – As announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Thursday afternoon, the UCF Track and Field was named an All-Academic Team for the seventh time in program history. Additionally, 10 Knights were named All-Academic Athletes: exhibiting academic and athletic excellence during the 2023 indoor and outdoor seasons.

All-Academic Teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Student-Athletes who garnered All-Academic Status: 

- Adrienne Adams

- Holly Cassels

- Beyonce Defreitas

- Janyah Jasper

- Kaliah Jones

- Rayniah Jones

- Daija Lampkin

- Natalia Madison

- Jasmine Scott-Kilgo

- Latasha Smith 

The USTFCCCA honors athletes who reach numerous standards on the track and in the classroom. To be named an All-Academic Athlete, competitors must attain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and complete 2 semesters at their current institution. Athletically, qualification to the 2023 NCAA Preliminary round in the outdoor season or finishing among the top-96 athletes in an event during the indoor season is needed. 

Rayniah Jones notched her fourth consecutive honor, with her 2023 season serving as a groundbreaking year for the Miami native academically. Earlier this year, Jones was named an Order of Pegasus recipient, the highest achievement a student at UCF can attain. On the track, Jones earned three All-America honors during the indoor and outdoor seasons. 

Latasha Smith collected her third consecutive All-Academic honor, as the recent graduate saw a breakout season in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dash. Natalia Madison, Jasmine Scott-Kilgo, Beyonce Defreitas and Adrienne Adams all earned their second nods. 

Transfers Janyah Jasper and Daija Lampkin both earned their first All-Academic honors with the Knights, while Holly Cassels and Kaliah Jones's campaigns seized them their first nods.
