AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
The No. 4 UCF baseball team will face No. 1 East Carolina in an elimination game in the American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship, presented by Visit St. Pete Clearwater, at 1 p.m. Friday, May 26 at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida.
The tournament will be played in a double-elimination format through the semifinal round. The championship final is a winner-take-all matchup Sunday, May 28, which will determine The American's automatic entrant to the NCAA Championship.

The Knights fell to rival South Florida in the second round of the American Conference tournament despite the Knights' offense putting together a string of solid at-bats late in the game. The Bulls' offense continue to fire, taking the contest with a 15-4 final score in eight innings.
Following a walk- off win in the Knights' first game of the tournament, the Knights tournament record drops to 1-1.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The Pirates swept the Knights in a three-game set earlier in the year when UCF traveled to Greenville, N.C. in early April. The two teams' final regular season meeting was a 12-inning battle that the Pirates took with a final score of 3-2.
UCF IN THE TOURNAMENT
UCF has a 13-16 all-time record in the conference tournament. In the previous two seasons, UCF went 6-4 in the tournament, with wins over five of the seven American Conference opponents.
The Knights have met East Carolina six times in the tournament, with a 1-5 record. In 2021, UCF faced the Pirates in a semifinal-round doubleheader that the teams split.
The most recent postseason meeting between the Knights and Pirates was an elimination game that UCF won, 2-1, to advance to the championship game, eliminating East Carolina.
