ORLANDO, Fla. – Outdoor… Indoor… Boggy and Lleyton don't care.
The UCF men's tennis tandem advanced in a straight-set victory over Casey Kania and Ryan Seggerman, 7-6(5), 7-6(4). With a weather delay that halted the second set just as it got underway, the Knights duo were able to take two crucial tiebreaks to advance to the Round of 16 tomorrow.
Neither pairing broke serve as the tandems held until Pavel and Cronje took both tiebreaks, 7-5, 7-4. For Pavel, his swan song isn't over yet as he will not play in the last 16 for the second time in his career, following a run in the 2021 tournament.
Up next for the Knights is a Sweet 16 matchup with Andrew Fenty and Gavin Young of Michigan, the seventh-ranked pairing in the nation. The match will begin at 2 pm as the Knights tandem will look to solidify their place in program history with advancement to the Quarterfinals.
