ORLANDO – UCF volleyball unveiled its inaugural Big 12 conference schedule for the 2023 season on Tuesday.
The Knights' 18-match conference ledger includes seven teams that participated in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, including national champion Texas. Four teams on the docket were also among the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Rankings.
As UCF enters its first season in the Big 12 conference, the league's match format consists of 18 matches over 10 weeks with six series matchups (3H/3A) and six single matches (3H/3A).
The Knights jump right into conference play on the road at Cincinnati on Sept. 21-22. The Knights then head back home to host Oklahoma on Sept. 28-29.
A midweek matchup at Texas Tech on Oct. 4 awaits before the Knights have a six-day break prior to their next match.
After the break, the Black and Gold are set to host West Virginia (Oct. 11) and Kansas State (Oct. 14).
On the road again, the Knights face Baylor for a weekend series on Oct. 20-21.
UCF heads back to Orlando for a weekend series to host TCU on Oct. 26-27.
To open play in November, the Black and Gold head to Houston for back-to-back matchups on Nov. 3 and 4.
Winding down the regular season, BYU comes to The Venue for the last home series on Nov. 9 and 10. For the first time in the history of The Venue, the Knights will host the defending national champion as Texas makes the trip to Orlando for the final home match of the 2023 season on Nov. 18.
The Knights round out the conference slate on the road at Iowa State (Nov. 22) and Kansas (Nov. 25).
UCF will look to build upon its seventh consecutive 20-win season (excluding the 2020 season due to COVID), after finishing 28-2 last year with its fifth NCAA second-round appearance and the fifth consecutive American Athletic Conference Championship.
The Knights are returning several key players for the 2023 season including Abby Hansen, Claudia Dillon, Heidi Bonde and Katelyn Grimes.
