Carrera, Travale Complete Round Two of NCAA Regional

SALEM, S.C. –
For the second consecutive day, UCF's Luis Carrera and Johnny Travale recorded strong scores in the NCAA Men's Golf Regional held in Salem, South Carolina at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls Golf Course.

Both players fired an even par 72 in the second round, as Travale is tied for 22nd with a 140 (-4) after the first two days of competition and Carrera is 37th at one under (143).

Travale closed out his day with a strong showing on the back nine, carding a two under after he was two over on the front nine. He recorded four birdies in round two, sinking birdie putts on hole No. 5, 14, 16 and 18.

Following the first two rounds, Travale has tallied 12 birdies, which is the fourth-highest total of any player in the field.

Carrera opened his day with a birdie on hole No. 1, completing the par 4 in just three strokes. He also birdied hole No. 7 and hole No. 16. Carrera was even on the front nine and even on the back nine to record his score of even par for the day.

In the final round on Wednesday, Carrera will tee off at 9:50 a.m. and Travale will tee off at 10:34 a.m.

The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Arizona State and The Thunderbirds are the hosts for the 2023 NCAA National Championships.
