Baseball Drops Series Opener to Cincinnati

Cincinnati, Ohio – The Knights fell in the series-opener of the final leg of their eight-game road trip at Cincinnati Friday afternoon with a final score of 13-3 in seven innings.

The Knights move to 27-23 overall with an American Athletic Conference record of 8-11 as the Bearcats improve to 22-27 with a 9-10 conference record.

Despite two runs scored on back-to-back doubles from Andrew Brait and Ben McCabe in the top of the fifth inning, Cincinnati's two big innings led them to a game one win.

Dom Castellano pitched 2.1 innings in relief, throwing two scoreless frames and tying his career single-game of high three strikeouts.

The Knights return to the UC Baseball Stadium for the second game of the series at 2 p.m. Saturday.
