Knights Primed for Lake Wheeler Invite This Weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. - The UCF rowing team will start its out-of-state competition with a trip to Raleigh for the Lake Wheeler Invite this weekend. Action is slated to begin on Friday, April 21 and convenve through Saturday, April 22 at Lake Wheeler on the NC State campus.

Hosted by North Carolina and Duke, this race will mark UCF's fourth time competing in the Lake Wheeler Invite and first since 2019. The 2020 Lake Wheeler Invite was canceled due to COVID-19.

The Knights will start their races at 10:12 a.m. on April 21 starting with the Third Varsity Eight. The Knights' Second Varsity Four squad will race at 10:48 a.m. followed by the Varsity Four at 11:24 a.m. The Second Varsity Eight will race at noon and the Varsity Eight will round out the morning sessions at 12:36 p.m. before a break. 

To kick off the afternoon sessions of the first day, the 3V8 squad will race at 3:24 p.m., followed by the 2V4 at 4 p.m. The V4 will start at 4:36 p.m., with the 2V8 following at 5:12 p.m. and the V8 closing out the first day of competition for the Knights at 5:48 p.m.

For UCF's final day of racing in North Carolina, the Third Varsity Eight boat will begin its race at 9 a.m. The Second Varsity Four will follow at 9:36 a.m. with the Varsity Four coming behind at 10:12 a.m. The Second Varsity Eight squad will race at 10:48 a.m. and the Varsity Eight boat will close out UCF's time in Raleigh at 11:24 a.m.
