ORLANDO – Jamie Davies, who will be going on his sixth season as a member of the UCF men's soccer coaching staff, has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.
"Jamie is an exceptional coach and person," said head coach Scott Calabrese. "He positively impacts our program and our student-athletes daily and has done so for the last six years. I am excited to promote him to the position of Associate Head Coach."
Davies had been an assistant coach with the Knights for the last five seasons, as well as spearheading the recruiting process for the team, earning him the title of recruiting coordinator. He joined UCF back in January of 2018.
The Black and Gold immediately jumped to new heights with the addition of Davies and were ranked in the top 10 in multiple offensive categories during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, which were years where the Knights won the first two of their three straight American Athletic Conference regular season titles. The Knights went to three straight NCAA Tournaments, starting in Davies' first season, and proceeded to make back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in 2019 and 2020-21. The Black and Gold reached the final of The American's postseason tournament in four of Davies' five seasons with the Knights prior to the program's move to the Sun Belt ahead of the 2023 season. UCF earned The American tournament title during the 2020-21 season, beating Tulsa 1-0 in the championship match after winning the program's third consecutive regular season title.
UCF have gone 43-17-6 since Davies' arrival, an impressive .697 winning percentage, including a 29-12-5 mark at home. He has played a role in crafting two All-Americans as a member of the Knights' staff with Cal Jennings earning First Team honors in 2018 and 2019 and Yanis Leerman earning Second Team honors in 2020-21.
Davies continues to coach alongside Calabrese and fellow Associate Head Coach Paul Souders. Calabrese and Souders will be entering their seventh season with the Knights in the fall.
