Ward Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society

Former UCF long snapper Alex Ward has been named to the 2023 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society.
 
Ward qualified as one of an elite group of college football players who have attained a 3.2 or higher undergraduate grade-point average and been a starter or significant contributor on the football field.
 
Ward (Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Florida) is a two-time finalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award as the top long snapper in college football. He was a second-team All-American (Phil Steele) in that role in 2022 and a third-team selection in 2021. Ward began as a freshman long snapper at UCF in the 2017 season. He also participated in the 2023 Senior Bowl and was the only long snapper invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine in February in Indianapolis
 
Ward was a 2022 semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy from the National Football Foundation. He was a five-time selection to the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and was named to the 2022 UCF Order of Pegasus as one of the University's 26 most exemplary students.
 
Ward graduated in 2021 with a degree in mechanical engineering and has pursued a second degree in integrated business.
