Travale Finishes Seventh at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – Johnny Travale saved his best round for last, as the fifth year was five under par in the final round to tie for seventh on the player leaderboard and headline UCF men's golf's showing at the Schenkel Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Forest Heights Country Club.

Travale started the day on fire, recording a birdie on five of his first seven holes to card a 32 (-4) on the front nine. He continued to play well and wrapped up his day by birdieing hole No. 17 and 18. The Canadian jumped from No. 27 on the player leaderboard following the second round to finish in a tie for seventh overall with a 212 (-4).

The Knights also ended in a tie for seventh as a team with an 876 (+12), recording a 291 (+3) in the final round on Sunday.

Luis Carrera fired a 220 (+4) to finish tied for 30th. The fifth year shot a 71 (-1) in each of the first two rounds before a 78 in the final round Sunday.

Egor Eroshenko carded a seven-over-par 223, recording a 77 (+5) in the final round on Sunday with one birdie. Chase Haygood closed out the invitational with one of the best rounds of his collegiate career, as the freshman fired a 69 (-3) with four birdies and only one bogey. He finished 53rd with a 224 (+8).

Markus Braadlie shot a 78 on Sunday to end with a 230 (+14) and Juan Camilo Vesga, who competed as an individual, carded a 242.

UCF will return to action at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational (April 1-2) hosted by Augusta University at the Forest Hills Golf Club.
