KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Four Knights finished within the top 10 or higher to help the UCF women's golf team to a second-place overall finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational Tuesday afternoon at Briar's Creek Golf Club.
UCF closed out the final round of play Tuesday morning at 294 (+6) and posted a total of 854 (-10) to finish just behind conference foe, SMU (851, -13). Meanwhile, SMU's Michelle Zhang and NC State's Lauren Olivares each posted the lowest individual total with a 210 (-6).
UCF's Jess Baker, Anna Nordfors, Pimpisa "Sandwich" Sisutham and Tunrada Piddon paved the way for the Knights with top 10 finishes in the event. Baker posted the lowest score of the bunch at 211 (-5) after finishing the final round with a 73 (+1). She closed out the event tied for third place out of 90 golfers.
Nordfors finished tied for seventh with a 213 (-3) after shooting 2-over 74 on Tuesday. Sisutham and Piddon each finished tied for 10th with a 216 (E).
Zoe Allaux finished tied for 36th with a 223 (+7) score, while Camille Banzet, tied for 41st to close the invitational out as an individual with a 224 (+8)
The Knights will take the rest of the month of March off from competition before gearing up for the final stretch of the season when they head to Ardmore, Oklahoma for the Bruzzy from April 1-2 before heading to Brooksville, Florida for the American Athletic Conference Tournament from April 17-19.
