ORLANDO – D1Softball.com announced its preseason First- and Second-Team All-Americans Monday afternoon, with UCF junior utility phenom Jada Cody making the cut as a Preseason First-Team All-American.

The honor represents the latest in an offseason that has not been short on national recognition for the Murrieta, California, native. Within the last month alone, Cody has also been named the top utility player in the nation and the No. 14 player in the nation overall by D1Softball, No. 5 among the national catcher/utility power rankings by Extra Inning Softball, the No. 31 player in the nation by Softball America, and was appointed to USA Softball's Top 50 Player of the Year Award watchlist.

The junior enjoyed a breakout 2022 spring campaign, one that was highlighted by her program-record 75 RBI that broke Knights Hall of Famer Stephanie Best's mark of 66 RBI that had stood for the last 19 years.

Slashing .361/.439/.701, Cody helped lead a potent Knights offense that ranked among the top three in The American in a myriad of statistical categories. She also clubbed a season-high 15 home runs, surpassing her previous high of seven, and also set season-highs in RBI, average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, runs scored (48), total hits (70), doubles (15), triples (3), total bases (136) and walks (27).

For her contributions last season, she was awarded D1Softball First Team All-American, Softball America Second Team All-American, NFCA Mideast All-Region Second Team, American Athletic Conference Most Outstanding Player, AAC All-Tournament Team, and AAC All-Conference First Team honors, the last of which was a unanimous selection.
