Women's Golf Set to Host UCF Challenge

ORLANDO – The Knights are back in action this weekend as the UCF women's golf team kicks off the spring portion of its season by hosting the annual UCF Challenge at Eagle Creek and Country Club in Orlando.

The event kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 5 and runs through Tuesday, Feb. 7, with teams teeing off at 8:45 in a shotgun start each morning. The Eagle Creek golf course will play as a par-72, 6,349-yard length. Fans can follow along with live score from golfstat.com.

"It's always great to start the spring season here at home," said head coach Emily Marron. "This is our tenth year we've hosted at Eagle Creek. As well as is one of the best fields we've ever had with five of the top 25 teams in the country coming. "

The UCF lineup will consist of Tunrada Piddon, Anna Nordfors, Pimpisa Sisutham, Zoe Allaux, and Jess Baker with Camille Banzet, suiting up as an individual.

The Black and Gold posted a solid fall that included two top-five finishes, placing second in the Mercedes Benz Invitational and fifth in the Landfall Tradition. UCF enters the spring season ranked No. 28 in Golfstat women's team ranking.

The 17-team field in this year's edition of the UCF Challenge includes No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 20 Kent State, No. 23 Iowa State, UCF, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion, College of Charleston, Penn State, Miami, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Texas, North Florida, Northwestern and Kansas.

The Knights will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning from hole one. UCF is paired with Wake Forest and Mississippi State to open the tournament.
