UCF men's golf opens its 2023 slate on Sunday at The Hayt Collegiate, hosted by the University of North Florida at the prestigious Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Knights will compete in the event for the third consecutive year.
Action gets underway at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, as the teams will play 36 continuous holes on the first day of the event followed by 18 holes on Monday.
The UCF lineup will consist of Egor Eroshenko, Markus Braadlie, Luis Carrera, Johnny Travale, and Tom Stephens, who will make his UCF debut. Juan Camilo Vesga will play as an individual.
The 2023 event will mark the 31st edition of The Hayt Collegiate, which has been held at Sawgrass Country Club since its inception in 1992. The course will play at a par 72 and 6,966 yards.
UCF will be joined in competition by No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 17 Alabama, No. 39 Arkansas, No. 42 North Florida, No. 58 Furman, No. 60 FGCU, No. 63 UT-Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, North Texas and UAB.
2023 The Hayt Collegiate Qualifying Information
- Luis Carrera has earned an exemption into The Hayt Collegiate after finishing tied for 11th in the 2022 Isleworth Collegiate.
- Markus Braadlie has qualified for The Hayt Collegiate by finishing first in the five-round qualifier with a score of +7.
- Tom Stephens has qualified for The Hayt Collegiate after finishing second in the five-round qualifier with a score of +9.
- Johnny Travale has earned an exemption into The Hayt Collegiate following a strong showing at the 2023 Jones Cup Invitational, where he finished tied for sixth.
- Egor Eroshenko has qualified for The Hayt Collegiate after finishing fourth in the five-round qualifier with a score of +18.
Juan Camilo Vesga will participate as an individual at the The Hayt Collegiate by finishing fifth in the five-round qualifier with a score of +20.
