Women’s Golf Turns in Strong Showing at Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Competing against some of the nation's top women's golf programs, the 21st-ranked UCF women's golf team held its own with a strong showing at the Moon Golf Invitational held Sunday through Tuesday at Suntree Golf Club.

The Knights wrapped up play on Tuesday with an 855 (-9) team score to tie for seventh place in a field of 17 teams, including 13 ranked programs. After firing two rounds under par on Monday (283, -5) and Sunday (278, -10), UCF shot a 294 (+6) on Tuesday to close out the invitational.

Three Knights golfers finished among the top 42 on the player leaderboard, headlined by Tunrada Piddon who ended in a tie for 23rd with a 213 (-3). The senior was two over par (74) in the final round, following a 74 in the second round and a 65 in the first round. Piddon's 16 birdies in the event were tied for the most by any player.

Junior Jess Baker and freshman Pimpisa 'Sandwich' Sisutham tied for 32nd with scores of even par 216. Baker fired an even par 72 in all three rounds with 10 birdies. Sisutham shot a 70 (-2) in the opening round and a 73 (+1) in the second and third rounds. The Thailand native dropped in seven birdies, including three in the final round Tuesday.

Zoe Allaux shot a two-over-par 218 in the invitational with a 75 in the final round on Tuesday. She carded a 69 in the second round and a 74 in the opening round. Allaux ended the event with 12 birdies to rank among the top 25 individuals in the field.

Graduate student Anna Nordfors notched a 219 (+3) in the Moon Golf Invitational following a tough final round but had a 69 (-3) on Monday and a 71 in the first round. Nordfors logged 13 birdies over the three days, the fourth-highest total in the field.
