Orlando – The Knights fell for the first time this season in an 13-3 loss to Florida Atlantic on Tuesday night at John Euliano Park.
The Owls hit a leadoff home run and then tacked on three more runs over the first three innings to take a 4-0 lead.
UCF responded with an Andrew Brait RBI single that scored Corey Robinson making it 4-1.
Both offenses would be held scoreless until the sixth inning when FAU hit a two-run home run to left center field.
Ben McCabe followed that up with a moonshot to left, his fourth of the year and 34th of his career moving him one shy of tying Matt Bowser for sixth most in program history.
The Owls would take a commanding 11-2 lead in the top of the seventh however after plating five runs in the inning.
Brait would collect his second RBI with a sacrifice fly scoring John Rhys Plumlee.
FAU added two more with another two-run shot to center field.

UCF heads to Clemson for their first road trip of the season. They'll take on the Tigers in a three-game set starting on Friday at 4 p.m., followed by a game Saturday at 2 p.m., and the series finally on Sunday at 1 p.m.
