Track Heads to Gainesville, Multis to Harvard

Opens in a new window Celebration Pointe Live Results

ORLANDO – The UCF track and field will split up yet again this weekend as runners will return to Alachua County for the Celebration Pointe Classic on Thursday and will be joined on Friday by multis who are making the trip to Boston for Harvard's Crimson Elite Invitational. This will be the first of two trips to Boston in back-to-weeks and the final meet in Gainesville during the indoor season.

On Thursday, there will just be eight Knights competing in the 200-meter dash at 2 pm, the only event of the day for UCF. Friday will begin at roughly the same time in both competitions, with the 300-meter dash preceding the 60-meter prelim events at noon. At Harvard, Holly Cassels and Natalia Madison will compete in their second pentathlon of the season after both set new personal bests at Vanderbilt two weeks ago, also beginning at noon.

Distance, following a fantastic meet in Gainesville last Friday, will have runners in both the 800-meter and mile. Isabella Richardson and Mariana Rodriguez broke into the record books in the 3000-meter, as Richardson's 9:43.66 is now second all-time, followed by Rodriguez's mark of 9:50.00 which is now third.

Now just three weeks out from the American Athletic Conference in Birmingham, the squad continues to build week in, week out, in hopes of defending the 2022 crown.
