Walker to Miss Remainder of 2022-23 Season

ORLANDO – UCF men's basketball head coach Johnny Dawkins has announced that senior forward C.J. Walker will miss the remainder of the season with a leg injury.

"We're disappointed that we won't have C.J. available for the remainder of the season," said Dawkins. "He's an extremely talented player that brings another dimension to our team and he's worked so hard to get back on the court. He'll now be able to focus on his rehab and getting himself back to 100% for next season."

Walker played in four games during the 2022-23 season, seeing 76:26 of time on the court. He averaged 5.0 points a contest along with 3.5 rebounds. He had a season-high eight points against Western Illinois on Nov. 14 and last played in game action against Miami on Nov. 27. Walker also played in contests against Florida State and Oklahoma State. Walker tallied three blocks, three steals and a pair of assists while on the floor.

Walker, who was originally at Oregon as a freshman, transferred to UCF for the 2020-21 season, making this his third season wearing the Black and Gold. Over that time, Walker has averaged 7.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He has made 55 appearances and 34 starts during that stretch.

Last season, Walker played in a career high 30 games, starting in 19 of them. He shot 49.7% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point line and averaged 8.3 points and 5.7 rebounds a contest.
