Knights Fall at South Florida

TAMPA, Fla. – The UCF women's basketball team was unable to overcome a slow start, as the Knights dropped an 83-51 decision to South Florida on Sunday afternoon in the Yuengling Center.

The Knights (10-8, 1-5 AAC) with a slow start, recorded their first basket to move the score to 4-2 with 6:59 remaining in the first quarter. The Bulls (18-4, 7-0 AAC) quickly used an 11-0 run, though, to close out the opening frame with a 23-12 advantage. South Florida went on to take a 22-point advantage into the locker room, 46-24.

The Knights put together a scoring spurt in the third quarter but were unable to cut into the deficit over the final 20 minutes and South Florida claimed the 83-51 victory.

Anzhané Hutton led UCF with 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. Rachel Ranke added 12 points and Bryana Hardy finished with seven points.

Next up, the Knights will head to Temple for a matchup on Jan. 28 with tipoff slated for 2 p.m.
