ORLANDO – The UCF cheer team recorded its 24th top-10 finish this weekend at the UCA College National Championships, placing fourth in Division 1A Coed Cheer at ESPN Wide World of Sports.
The success for the cheer team continued, as they have placed in the top 10 in 27 of the last 29 years of competition. The Knights have also placed in the top five every year since 2006. Their event score of 90.75 this year put them in the top five with several of the nation's top programs including Kentucky, Ohio State, South Florida, and Oklahoma.
The UCF dance team found success in both jazz and hip hop competition Sunday evening as well, placing seventh in hip hop and 14th in jazz. The team also placed seventh in the hip hop division last year, marking their best all-time finish in this category. After not advancing to the finals in the jazz division last year, placing 14th shows the incredible strides the program is making.
UCF has won three national championships in cheer, most recently in 2020.
