Marshall Selected to 2023 Hula Bowl Hall of Fame Class

ORLANDO – Brandon Marshall, a 2019 UCF Hall of Fame inductee, has been selected as a member of the 2023 Hula Bowl Hall of Fame Class. The induction ceremony and dinner will take place on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Orlando Altamonte Springs.

Marshall is still among UCF's best at the wide receiver position, with his name still listed among the top 10 in numerous statistical categories. He finished his career with 112 receptions for 1,674 yards with 13 touchdowns.

In 2005, he tallied 74 catches to lead the team and that mark still ranks among the top 10 in UCF single-season history. Marshall's 1,195 receiving yards that year are the third most for a single season in program history and his seven 100-yard receiving games in 2005 are tied for the most in program history.

Marshall was selected in the 2006 NFL Draft and played 13 seasons in the NFL for the Broncos, Dolphins, Bears, Jets, Giants, Seahawks and Saints. He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection an All-Pro in 2015. Marshall led the league in receiving touchdowns in 2015 with the Jets. Marshall was so valuable to his team at UCF, he played both offense and defense in 2004.

He was named UCF's MVP in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl after recording 11 receptions for 210 yards and three touchdowns. The 210 yards receiving are still the fourth-highest total in single-game history at UCF as he also set Hawaii Bowl records for most receptions and receiving yards in a game.

Marshall turned in a stellar performance in the 2006 Hula Bowl, catching the eye of several NFL teams. He caught five passes for 101 yards with a touchdown to lead his East team past the West Team, 10-7. Marshall was voted as the MVP of the game by the media.

The Hula Bowl Hall of Fame was founded in 2019 to recognize the greatest collegiate players and coaches to have participated in a Hula Bowl All-Star Game.

Since its inception in 1946, the Hula Bowl has featured more than 6,000 players from every D1 college and multiple D2 and D3 schools. More than 1,000 NCAA and NFL coaches have prepared players for the draft process (with more than 100+ head coaches). Notable players include NFL MVPS (Deion Sanders and Dan Marino), Heisman winners (Ricky Williams and Billy Sims), and NFL / CFL Hall of Famers (including Tony Dorsett, Eric Dickerson, and Junior Ah You). Legendary coaches include Mike White, Grant Teaff, Rex Ryan, and Mike Smith.

Considering the Hula Bowl's unique traditions, rich history, and special relationship to Hawai'i, the Hula Bowl Foundation found it appropriate to immortalize the men who have contributed to the game. Membership to the Hall of Fame is by a selection by the foundation board combined with fan vote participation.
