Men's Basketball Announces Brandon Suggs Signing

ORLANDO – UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins continued to add to his men's basketball roster Friday morning, announcing the addition of East Carolina transfer Brandon Suggs to the roster.

Suggs, a 6-foot-6 forward/guard, has suited up seven times against UCF throughout his career as a member of ECU, posting double-digit points twice on the Knights in that span.

"We couldn't be happier to bring a player of Brandon's skillset on board. He's an experienced player with plenty of versatility that can score in a variety of different ways and is selfless with the ball," said Dawkins.

"He's got a lot of experience within the conference and we're happy that we don't have to play against him twice a year anymore. We can't wait to get Brandon on campus and start workouts with the team."

Suggs played in 24 games for the Pirates in 2021-22, making 16 starts. The Powder Springs, Georgia native was third on the team with 10.1 points per game while also notching 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.

He posted a career-high 25 points (on 9-of-15 shooting), while adding three rebounds, three blocks and a pair of assists against Coppin State on Nov. 27, 2021. In 2020-21 with the Pirates, he posted a career-best 35.9 three-point percentage (14-of-39).

In his career at ECU, Suggs has scored over 650 points and tallied 150 assists. He's a career 43.4 percent shooter from the field.

Suggs joins recent transfers Lahat Thioune and Michael Durr, as well as incoming freshmen Taylor and Tyler Hendricks as the latest addition to Dawkins' 2022-23 recruiting class.
