Knights Set to Host Seton Hall on Sunday

ORLANDO - The UCF women's basketball team returns home to face Seton Hall on Sunday, Dec. 11. The game will tip off at 3 p.m. and streamed on ESPN+.
 
The Knights suffered their first loss of the season last weekend when they traveled to Auburn. The team only managed to put up 47 points against the Tigers, the fewest points the team has scored this season.
 
The Black and Gold have outscored their opponents 471-402 in their past seven games, averaging 67.3 points per game. The team has also greatly improved their turnover rate, with only 18 in their last game against Auburn, compared to 26 from the season opener against Winthrop.
 
Laila Jewett, sophomore, has had herself a season, constantly breaking her own records. She recorded a career-night when the Knights faced Sam Houston, putting up a career-high 34 points and going six-for-eight from the field. Destiny Thomas has also stepped up both her offensive and defensive game this season. The senior has recorded four double-doubles in the 2022-23 campaign and leads the team in points (89) and rebounds (75).
 
The Opponent
 
The Seton Hall Pirates are 7-3 during the 2022-23 campaign and currently boast a five-game win streak. After dropping three in a row to Princeton, Columbia and Virginia Commonwealth, they have appeared to bounce back, defeating Georgia and Wisconsin during their current streak.
 
Senior Lauren Park-Lane leads the scoring for the Pirates, collecting a total of 205 points in ten games. On the defensive end, Sidney Cooks has collected 68 rebounds this season, a team high.
 
Last Matchup
 
This will be the second all-time match-up between the Knights and the Pirates. The last time they met was in December of last year in New Jersey. The Black and Gold won that game with a score of 68-56, winning their eighth game in a row at the time.
