Women's Tennis Releases 2023 Schedule

ORLANDO – The UCF women's tennis team has announced their 2023 dual match season schedule, beginning at home on Sunday, Jan. 15.

The Knights will play 19 regular season dual matches, 13 of those being at home. The final dual match season in the AAC will not be easy for the Knights, facing 12 teams who were ranked in the 2022 dual match season. Most notably, three of the teams were ranked in the top 10, No. 6 NC State, No. 8 Pepperdine, and No. 9 Miami.

The Knights first match of the season will be against future Big 12 conference opponent Texas Christian on January 15. UCF will host Stetson the following weekend, before traveling to Auburn on January 27-28 to take on No. 17 Arizona State and No. 14 Auburn or No. 22 UC Santa Barbara on ITA Kickoff Weekend.

The month of February will begin with the Black and Gold hosting No. 74 LSU at home on the fifth, followed by National Indoors the next weekend in Seattle, Wa. After returning home to face FIU on the 14th, the Knights will go on a two-game road trip, where they will compete against No. 26 Vanderbilt and No. 24 Tennessee on February 17 and 19, respectively. The team will close out the month with a big match up, facing No. 8 Pepperdine on the 26th.

March features a five game homestand and five ranked opponents, only going on the road for one weekend. The home series opens on March 4, where the Black and Gold will host No. 9 Miami. The following week will see UCF facing Penn State on the eighth and UVA on the 10th. To close out the homestand, the Knights will play No. 6 NC State on March 17, the highest ranked opponent on the 2023 dual match slate. The last road trip of the regular season will take place the following weekend, as the Black and Gold travels to take on Georgia Tech on the 23rd and Clemson on the 25th.

To close out the regular season, the Knights will face only conference opponents in the month of April, beginning with Tulane on April 3, South Florida on April 13, and ending with No. 44 SMU on the 16th.

The American Athletic Conference Tournament will take place April 19-23 at the USTA National Campus.

UCF will look to continue to build after going 18-6 overall and undefeated in conference play last season. After making it to the second round of the NCAA tournament before being knocked out by No. 9 Miami, the Knights finished the season ranked No. 21 in the country.
