ORLANDO – The UCF men's soccer is set for its final match of the regular season as it hosts South Florida for the final installment of the War On I-4 with both teams as members of the American Athletic Conference. The match will kickoff at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday and will double as Senior Knight with the team celebrating Gino Vivi and Lucas Mauro.

The Knights are looking to celebrate a 10th straight berth to the American Athletic Conference but will need to take care of business and get some help to do it. A UCF win over South Florida and an FAU loss on the road to FIU is the lone scenario that will get the Knights into The American's postseason tournament. If the scenario plays out, the Knights will secure the No. 6 seed and reach the conference's tournament in all 10 tries in their 10 seasons as part of the league.

Standing in the Black and Gold's way is their bitter rivals of South Florida. The pair have had plenty of tight contests in their history, with the last nine matches decided by a single goal. Of the rivalry's 41 meetings, 26 of them have been decided by a goal or less, including 11 of the last 12. The road team has won the last six meetings, a streak the Knights will be looking to snap on Wednesday night.

Six points are at stake in the all-sports War On I-4 tally in the upcoming contest against South Florida. UCF holds an early 15-0 lead so far, with the Knights beating the Bulls in volleyball, women's soccer and cross country.

The Bulls men's soccer program enters the match with a 5-5-4 record so far this season and are 4-1-3 in conference play. They have clinched a spot in The American's postseason tournament, their first appearance since 2019. Oscar Resano and Ajmeer Spengler lead the team in scoring with eight points each. Resano has tallied four goals while Spengler has a trio of goals and two assists. Jackson Weyman has been the lone goalkeeper this season for the Bulls, recording 49 saves for a .710 save percentage.
