FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – UCF fifth year Johnny Travale carded a score of 71 (-1) to tie for seventh and highlight the first round of action for the Knights at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Monday at the Blessings Golf Club.
As a team, UCF men's golf had a challenging first day, compiling a team score of 307 (+19) in the first round to occupy 10th place in the stacked field of teams, which includes six ranked teams.
Travale tallied six birdies on the day in a strong performance, as that total was tied for the third most of any player. The Canada native was even par following the first nine holes and finished one under on the back nine. Travale birdied the first, third and fifth holes on the front nine and the 11th, 13th and 15th holes on the back nine.
Juan Camilo Vesga turned in a score of 77 (+5), headlined by four birdies. Egor Eroshenko was seven over with a 79, while Markus Braadlie and Luis Carrera were both eight over with scores of 80.
UCF will tee off at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday on hole 10 in the second round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Live coverage will be available starting at 4:30 p.m. on Golf Channel.
