ORLANDO – After winning the regular-season title to earn the No. 1 seed, the UCF women's soccer team is set to host the American Athletic Conference semi-finals and final for the first time since 2017 at the UCF Soccer Complex. Below is a full breakdown of the schedule for this week.
The two semifinals will be played on Thursday, Nov. 3. No. 2 South Florida and No. 6 SMU will begin the day's slate of games at 4 p.m. South Florida (8-8, 5-3) earned a first-round bye through a five-game winning streak that spanned from Sep. 22 with a 1-0 win over Tulsa to its 2-0 win over Temple on Oct. 20. SMU (9-3-5, 3-3-2) upset No. 3 Cincinnati in the first round with a 1-0 win after the Mustangs earned a tournament berth with wins over Tulsa and Memphis in their final two matches. In their matchup this season, USF defeated SMU in Dallas 1-0.
The second semifinal will kick off at 7 p.m. following the first match, as top-seeded UCF will host No. 4 Memphis. UCF (9-2-4, 7-0-1) clinched the regular-season title and hosting rights with its 1-0 win over Houston on senior day. The Knights went undefeated in conference play, the first team to do so since South Florida in 2020. Memphis (8-5-4, 3-2-3), reigning conference tournament champions, garnered a home-field advantage for the first round after a strong showing at home in conference play. The Tigers won two and drew two, beating East Carolina and Tulsa by a combined score of 9-2. UCF drew 0-0 with the Tigers in Memphis in both team's first conference match of the season on Sept. 15. Memphis is the only team the Knights did not beat in conference play.
Following the result of the two semifinals, the championship game is set to be played on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m.
All three matches will be available to stream on ESPN+, with the championship game on Sunday also being aired on ESPNEWS.
