Knights Win War on I-4 2-0 in Tampa

TAMPA, Florida – The UCF women's soccer team capped off a historic regular season Thursday night with a 2-0 win over South Florida. The win added six points to the Knights War on I-4 score. UCF now leads 9-0 through two games.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair, but Dayana Martin broke through in the 16th minute on a beautiful goal from just outside the 18-yard box putting perfectly in the upper corner past the South Florida goalkeeper.

The Knights had six shots on goal in the first half and 10 shots total. Caroline DeLisle had three saves in the first 45 minutes as the Knights went into the half up 1-0.

Katie Bradley pushed the Knight's lead to two in the 66th minute on a set piece just outside the 18-yard box. She kept it low and bent it around the Bulls wall.

In the 75th minute, DeLisle made an insane save diving to her left to keep the Bulls scoreless.

The Knights had eight shots on goal compared to the Bulls' six.

That would be the last chance for either team as the Knights wrapped up an undefeated American Athletic Conference season that saw them only allow two goals. Two goals allowed in conference play is the best since 2019 when they also only allowed two goals.

The Knights now turn their focus to the American Athletic Conference Tournament where they will face off against the winner of ECU at Memphis.
